Thank you for visiting the web site of the Michigan Amputee Golf Association, the oldest regional amputee association in the United States.
Established in 1955, the Michigan Amputee Golf Association has been conducting tournaments and encouraging participation for hundreds of amputee golfers in the Midwest. Even though a golfer may be disabled, he or she can still enjoy the camaraderie, competition, and enjoyment the great game of golf can provide. The MAGA is also a catalyst in introducing amputees to the game as well. This great game can be a valuable tool in building confidence and self-esteem, and probably most importantly, simply providing enjoyment to amputee golfers. The MAGA has been there for 53 years for all amputees who love the game or would like to be introduced to the game.
The MAGA hosts 3 events annually and participates in a fourth staged by students in the Professional Golf Management Program at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI.

In addition, first-time entrants in "The Michigan" State Tournament play for FREE! That's right, free if you have not previously played! It makes getting started easy!
The MAGA is very proud of amputee participation in our 2 major fund raising events annually. The first, the Amputee/Guest Scramble is scheduled the Friday prior to the State Tournament. A fun, relaxing day of golf with your friends and family, followed by great hors d'oeuvres and beverages. A nice way to play a practice round.
Our premiere fund raising event is the "Challenge 100" Charity Golf Classic in September. This handicap-formatted scramble pairs an amputee with four non-amputees (we call 'em "normies"). All participants receive an exclusive MAGA logo tee gift, lunch and hors d'oeuvres with beverages to conclude the day. Prizes are provided by some of the great "golf destination" courses in Michigan.
We have many divisions of competition, and we're sure one will fit you. Juniors are especially welcome and encouraged to participate. Recently, our juniors have displayed great talent and desire. It won't be a surprise if some of our future champions emerge from this group!
Join us for some great golf competition and camaraderie with fellow amputees. Questions? Call Dick Jeremias (MAGA Secretary) at 586-777-5451, or Pine View at 269-279-5131. You may also email Dick at miamputeegolf@aol.com.
